When and How to Attend Court via Zoom in Illinois
Covid-19 radically changed how courts operate in Illinois. Nearly all courts in Illinois now have remote proceedings (typically via Zoom), however, appearing by Zoom is now allowed for all types of proceedings, and not all judges have a Zoom call every day. If you appear on Zoom for your court date when it is supposed to be an in person court date, it can have a negative outcome on your case or cause you to lose your case altogether. Therefore, in addition to finding your Zoom information before attending court, it’s crucial that you check the local rules to determine if you can appear via Zoom or if you need to plan to appear in person. See below links for where to find Zoom information for individual counties in Illinois, and the local rules for when you can attend court via Zoom.
